Vina Bosconia Rioja Reserva by Lopez de Heredia is featured for our October Discover club. While Bodega Lopez de Heredia is a historied estate, the Bosconia is one of their lesser known wines that showcases the more elegant nature of Rioja Alta.

The Steinsetz vineyard gives a super focused mineral edge that reinforces the sharp snap that I love in Gruner. This wine is like an energetic horse out of the gate, but if you rest it to mature for a few years, it will ease into itself and show a calmer yet serious character.

The Discover Club - March 2021

Barolo is often considered The Wine of Kings, partly because it takes years or decades to mature, and partly due to its price. However, just 10 miles north of Barolo is Roero. Here, Malvira produces a lovely Nebbiolo Riserva that was conveniently aged in their cellars before presenting to you! Perhaps it IS possible to have your cake and eat it too.
