About Gualtallary

Considered to be one of the first two grand crus of Mendoza, Gualtallary climbs up to 1,600 meters above sea level offering a cooler climate than the rest of the appellation. The soil here is comprised of poor, stony alluvial deposits offering great drainage and structure. When both elements are combined, you have great terroir producing powerful yet elegant wines.

Why I am excited about this wine

Alejandro Vigil joined the winemaking team at Bodega Catena Zapata in 2002 and quickly established a history of incredible wines. In 2010 he helped Catena Zapata achieve the title of New World Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast and has produced wines of incredible ratings from across the globe capturing the first 100 pt. wines for Argentina.
