fun fact
Manzoni Bianco is a cross between Riesling and Pinot Blanc. It is growing in popularity across its native Italy, venturing ever more southerly. However, in Alto Adige, Alois Lageder treats it more akin to their Austrian and German neighbors’ treatment of Riesling, making a dry, fuller-bodied style wine aged on the lees.
Why I am excited about this wine
As we move from Summer into Fall, I still look for great freshness in wines while desiring fuller body. The Lageder Manzoni delivers both: fresh, summer fruits wrapped around a creamy, mineral texture!
