ABOUT DAOU VINEYARDS

The Daou brothers, Georges and Daniel, were born in Lebannon, but after the Lebaneese civil war, their father, Joseph, moved their family to southern france where a passion for wine emerged in the young, impressionable brothers. As they reached adulthood, the two brothers both enrolled in UC San Diego to study electrical and computer engineering and eventually developed DAOU systems - a hospital computer system and built their fortune.

While building their system, Daniel began tending a small 1-acre vineyard of Cabernet and making wine in his garage in San Diego, and he was already envisioning his next big project. They found a unique site in one of Paso Robles’ higher elevations with terroir reminiscent of St-Emilion. Here, Daniel, with the support of his brother, Georges, set out to produce world class wines.
