As we move into fall, I find myself steering away from highballs or cocktails towards straight drams of spicy, smoky whiskey. Whether it is Scotch, Bourbon, or any other spirit, I enjoy accentuated notes of fire-charred oak. So, when selecting a new pour for the Duke Club, I first thought was to return to straight bourbon.

As we move into the final month of Summer, I gravitate back away from crisp white wines to fresh, lighter reds, and there is one wine which perfectly captures the diversity of this transitional season: Pinot Noir. This month, for Just A Taste’s Jefferson Club, I am excited to feature Nicolas-Jay Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2015.
